Canon AE-1 with 50mm f/1.8 Lens (USED)

The Canon AE-1 is a iconic 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) film camera that defined an era of photography and remains one of the most celebrated film bodies ever produced. Introduced as a landmark achievement in camera technology, the AE-1 brought advanced electronic shutter control and shutter-priority autoexposure to passionate photographers worldwide. Paired with the sharp and versatile Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens, this combination offers a timeless shooting experience perfect for film enthusiasts, students, and seasoned photographers looking for classic manual and semi-automatic control.

At the heart of the Canon AE-1 is its micro-computerized electronic shutter, delivering reliable exposure accuracy across shutter speeds ranging from 1/1000s down to 1 second, along with a bulb mode for long exposures. The camera’s central feature is its intuitive shutter-priority Autoexposure (AE) mode: simply set your desired shutter speed, and the camera automatically selects the matching aperture for ideal exposure. For full creative freedom, the AE-1 can also be operated in complete manual mode, giving you complete command over depth of field and exposure settings.

The included Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 prime lens provides a natural field of view matching human vision, making it an ideal choice for everyday street photography, environmental portraits, and travel. Featuring a fast f/1.8 maximum aperture, this lens excels in low-light environments and yields beautiful background blur (bokeh) to isolate subjects clearly. Built with renowned Canon FD optics, it delivers sharp contrast, accurate color rendering, and exceptional clarity across the frame.

Designed with ergonomics and durability in mind, the AE-1 features a lightweight yet solid chassis, a bright viewfinder with a split-image rangefinder/microprism focusing screen, and an easy-to-read needle meter display. Whether you are learning film photography fundamentals or adding a classic piece of optical engineering to your kit, the Canon AE-1 with 50mm f/1.8 lens delivers consistent performance and unforgettable analog imagery.
