Overview

Wide-angle zoom 11-24mm f/4 lens is compatible with full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs, as well as APS-C-sized models where it will provide a 17.6-38.4mm equivalent focal length range.
Constant f/4 maximum aperture offers consistent performance and light transmission throughout the zoom range.
One Super Ultra Low Dispersion and one ultra-low dispersion element help to significantly reduce chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and color accuracy.
Four aspherical elements help to minimize distortions throughout the zoom range in order to maintain edge-to-edge sharpness and illumination.
Both a Subwavelength Coating (SWC) and an Air Sphere Coating (ASC) have been applied to lens elements to reduce backlit flaring and ghosting for maintained light transmission and high contrast in strong lighting conditions.
A ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM), along with an internal focusing system, high-speed CPU, and optimized AF algorithms, are employed to deliver fast, precise, and near-silent autofocus performance as well as full-time manual focus override.
As a member of the esteemed L-series, this lens is sealed against dust and moisture for working in inclement environmental conditions.
Protective fluorine coating has been applied to the front bulbous element to resist fingerprints and smudges and to make cleaning significantly easier.
Lens's design accepts rear insert-type gelatin filters, which are cut-to-size and inserted behind the rear lens element.

Excellent lens for exterior photography
Architectural photographer. Lens performance is excellent for exteriors. However interior photography with longer exposures especially with led light sources in ceiling and walls, ghosting is very apparent with this lens and hard to correct.

Great lens
I do architectural photography had I had been using this lens for over three weeks in difference jobs. This lens it is outstanding the optic quality, the excellent construction and the wide coverage at 11mm aloud to take photos that before were not possible unless a panoramic was done. Any distortion is minor in comparison with other lenses the 16-35 or the 17-40 and much better chromatic aberration control. The lens is heavy but do not bother me I always use a tripod. It is pricy but you get what you pay for.

Great lens!
I'm a Architectural photographer and this is perfect! The only issue i've had was shooting very larger rooms wide open, sometimes I have to zoom in on post processing. I love it!

Way over priced it F4 lens
I have tried this lens on my Canon 5d mk3 and it was astounding. Sure wish I had pulled the trigger and purchased it then. I'm not of Canon jacking up the price for this lens at all. After all it a F4 not a 2.8. Not made for the R mirrorless yet.

Great Lens
I have been doing virtual tours for a local real estate agent for the past 3 or 4 years. I started with the original EOS 5D and a Canon EF 17-40mm, f/4L lens, and soon upgraded the camera body to the 5D Mk lll. I continued to use the same 17-40 lens.

Amazing lens
I purchased this lens few months ago and using for landscape. That's was amazing, super wide picture, sharp, details. The feeling of holding hand is very good.The lens is suitable for architecture I just regret that is has no IS mode.
