Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C. Prime Lens (USED)

Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C. is a classic manual-focus prime lens highly praised by vintage optical enthusiasts, street photographers, and modern mirrorless videographers. Renowned for its sharp optical rendering and smooth focus operation, this vintage lens features Canon’s legendary Super Spectra Coating (S.S.C.) to minimize internal reflections, ghosting, and lens flare while maximizing contrast and color saturation.

Designed with a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, this lens excels in low-light environments and produces an exceptionally shallow depth of field with rich, soft background bokeh. The solid metal construction offers precise mechanical tactile control, making it an excellent candidate for adapting to modern Sony E-mount, Canon RF, Fujifilm X, or Panasonic L-mount digital camera systems.

Key Features & Specifications

Equipped with Canon’s proprietary Super Spectra Coating (S.S.C.), this 50mm prime delivers excellent flare resistance and natural color reproduction across diverse lighting conditions. Its 6-element in 7-group optical design provides impressive center sharpness even wide open at f/1.4, stepping down to exceptional edge-to-edge clarity by f/2.8 and f/4.

The breech-lock FD mount ensures solid mounting on compatible 35mm film cameras or modern mirrorless lens adapters. With its manual focus ring delivering a long, smooth focus throw, videographers can easily execute controlled focus pulls with classic vintage cinema character.
