A Leica M6 "Hell" Non-TTL refers to the classic silver chrome (hell meaning "bright" or "light" in German) variant of the legendary 35mm mechanical rangefinder camera produced originally between 1984 and 1998.

  • Finish: Silver Chrome (Hell), featuring a bright metal top plate paired with a standard black body covering.
  • Viewfinder Magnification: Most commonly found with the standard 0.72x magnification (framelines for 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 90mm, and 135mm lenses).
  • Shutter & Mechanics: Mechanically controlled cloth horizontal-travel focal plane shutter offering speeds from 1s to 1/1000s, plus Bulb. It operates completely independently of batteries except for the light meter.
  • Light Metering: Features a through-the-lens (TTL) center-weighted analog meter driven by two silver-oxide SR44/LR44 or one 3V lithium cell, indicated by intuitive dual arrows and a center dot LED in the viewfinder.
  • Non-TTL Distinction: Unlike the later M6 TTL models, the original classic Non-TTL variant features a smaller, flush shutter speed dial that turns in the traditional direction and lacks dedicated TTL dedicated flash electronics.
