Works as it should.
Has not failed me yet. Have no doubts this charger lasting for a long time.

Battery charger MH-24 for Nikon 5100 does not work.
First I want to give feedback about site. I cannot figure out how to respond to the question/answer that is already on the site. This is awful that I cannot continue the thread. I did not expect this from a technology company. I had earlier mentioned that my battery was not getting charged, but, after getting a second battery and trying to charge it did not work, and now I can conclude that it is the charger. Several folks have mentioned that their charger or battery is of poor quality.

Hard Working /Dependable Charger
I must say that I have never had any of the problems some of the others have seem to have had. I have had mine for almost 2 years now and they have been put through thorough and hard use without ever failing me and this goes for the batteries too. I even went and purchased an additional charger and now have 5 batteries total and none of them have failed or let me down at any time. I do not buy from big box stores like Costco or Best buy or such. I only purchase through Professional camera shops

Charger failed after 3 months
Bought the charger at a big box store as part of a bundle. Three months after purchase the charger no longer worked. The camera is doing great - but I will run out of battery at some point and then what?

Has been reliable for 8 years - Have never used 3rd party batteries
I have had one of these chargers since I purchased a D3100 in 2011. I got another with a D3200. Both chargers have worked flawlessly until I somehow lost the charger that came with the D3200. My sister has a D5500, which also came with this charger, and she has never had a problem with it either. I have never used 3rd party non-Nikon batteries because the camera sometimes rejects them. I am surprised by the number of negative reviews this battery charger has. I would encourage any

Bad charger
This charger breaks within the second year and won't charge the battery any more. Bad product!

Doesn't work
This charger doesn't work. I purchased the camera as a kit and this charger was included. When I put the battery in sometimes it flashes rapidly and doesn't charge, sometimes the light doesn't flash at all. It looks like there is a lot of complaints about this charger not working. I'm surprised Nikon wouldn't recall it, like this is seriously going to affect customer satisfaction.

Charger, MH-24, D5100.
This is a Me too review. Charger worked for a couple of months, then the LCD stopped working. It continued charging for another month or so #and I'd charge the battery for only several hours each time#, then nothing. $60.00 replacement. Since I doubt that a replacement would be at no cost, I opened the charger up looking for any obvious problem, i.e. cracked board, faulty solder weld. I found nothing. I would rather pay an additional few bucks for a quality charger. Camera's fine, but this weak link has kept me from using it.

MH-24 battery charger
Used my MH-24 battery charger one time and it performed. The charger will not perform on the 2nd use. Bought a new battery, believing I may have a bad battery, but now I'm convinced it's the charger device. One use is all I got out of this battery charger. The camera produces beautiful work, but the charger is a throw away. Maybe they should be priced and sold as such.

This charger is made very poorly and stopped working after 3 months of owning it.
When it is plugged into the wall the charging led is very dim and blinks quickly. When it was functioning properly, the charging LED indicator was bright and blinking in a slower pattern. (It has never shown the fully charged End state LED pattern of a solid light being on since it was purchased.) Our previous model charger never had any issues like this, it was a solid unit and seemed to be of much better quality. We are very dissatisfied with this product. (
