Nikon Zoom Nikkor 43-86mm F/3.5 Lens (USED)

A Piece of Photographic History: The Pioneer of Standard Zooms

Step back in time with the Nikon Zoom-Nikkor 43-86mm f/3.5, a legendary lens that holds a significant place in optical history as one of the very first commercially successful standard zoom lenses. Released during the golden era of film SLR cameras, this compact, push-pull zoom became a staple for photojournalists and everyday photographers who wanted to replace multiple prime lenses with a single, highly convenient walkaround lens.

Today, it is beloved by vintage lens collectors and mirrorless shooters who seek its unique retro rendering, classic lens flares, and highly tactile all-metal construction.

Key Features & Technical Specifications

• Constant f/3.5 Maximum Aperture: Unlike many modern variable zooms, this lens maintains a constant f/3.5 max aperture throughout the entire zoom range, allowing for consistent exposure settings whether you are shooting at 43mm or 86mm.

• Intuitive Push-Pull Zoom Design: A single, smooth-operating ring controls both focus and focal length. Simply turn the ring to focus and push or pull it to zoom in and out—making composition fast and incredibly intuitive.

• Classic "Vintage" Character: Known for its soft, organic rendering wide open, rich color saturation, and unique flare characteristics, this lens is a favorite for videographers and creative portrait photographers looking to capture a distinct "film-look" on both analog and modern digital sensors.

• Legendary Nikon All-Metal Build: Built to last several lifetimes, this lens features a heavy-duty, all-metal barrel and a beautifully machined knurled focus grip that modern plastic lenses simply cannot replicate.

• Excellent Versatility: Covering the focal lengths from a wide-normal 43mm up to an ideal portrait-length 86mm, it serves as an excellent all-in-one choice for street, candid, portrait, and casual landscape photography.
