The Zoom-Nikkor Auto 43-86mm F/3.5 is a compact zoom lens that covers a range of focal lengths from semi-wideangle to medium telephoto. A single ring controls both zooming and focusing for greater handling convenience - simply twist to focus and push-pull to zoom. Because of the ingenious optical design the lens remains in focus throughout its entire zoom range once it is focused, and there is virtually no change in aperture. A meter coupling prong provides linkage with Nikkormat and Photomic-series thru-the-lens meters, and automatic diaphragm control guarantees the brightest possible viewfinder images for ease of viewing and focusing. The depth-of-field scale has continuous curved lines for reading depth of field at any focal length.
