Peak Design Everyday 20L V2 Overview

This 20L, charcoal-colored Everyday Backpack v2 from Peak Design is a versatile bag that is designed for photographers, multimedia creators, or anyone whose carrying requirements can benefit from its compressible, size-adjustable design that minimizes bulk or can be expanded as needed. Multiple magnetic latches for its top flap allow this backpack to vary from 18.3" to 22.3" in height, while inside, three dividers allow items to be stacked within the main compartment. The dividers also feature foldout surfaces that can be configured to cushion and hold items against either of the Everyday Backpack v2's zippered side openings. Since the side openings are positioned to face the wearer when the bag is rotated from one's back to front with either side facing upward, the dividers provide the ability to ensure which items can be most quickly accessed from the bag's sides.

When this Everyday Backpack v2 is worn, a zippered sleeve with dedicated pockets for a 12.9" tablet computer, a 15" laptop, as well as their chargers and cables rests behind the shoulders. To store and organize batteries, memory cards, small electronics, or personal items, the inside surfaces of each of the side openings include a both a slip pocket and zippered pocket. Along the exterior of the side openings are two large, open pockets that can each hold a water bottle, tripod, or monopod; any one of which can be secured using the included short external carrying straps with the gear loops located above each pocket.

Long external carrying straps are also provided. With the additional gear loops distributed along the surface of the Everyday Backpack v2, those carrying straps allow equipment, accessories, or packable clothing to be fastened against the bag's front panel. Alternatively, the long external carrying straps can be used as rear loading straps to secure items under the bottom of the Everyday Backpack v2.

The Everyday Backpack v2 can be carried using the wide, built-in handles along its top, sides, or by its adjustable, shoulder straps. For heavy loads, this bag's sternum strap can be used to more evenly distribute the weight being carried. During storage or transport, the shoulder straps can be magnetically fastened against the rear panel, which also features an integrated luggage pass-through, allowing this bag to be mounted onto a rolling case's telescoping handle for added convenience.

Featuring a durable, nylon construction, the Everyday Backpack v2 is built to be weather resistant. To further protect its contents should the bag be placed on a wet surface, the bottom panel is waterproof.

Best camera bag
No question about it, I've put these bags through hell and they always do the job. Recently upgraded to the V2 and wow, I thought the original was good. This new version improves every detail with some heavy duty quality of life improvements.

Solid, Well Thought-Out Bag
I'm not a professional photographer, and barely pass as a hobbyist, but this bag is fantastically considered and has creature comfort features that make using it day to day very pleasant. The little things, like magnetic latching of the straps to the back of the bag, the little ties stored everywhere to latch on more cumbersome items, and the luggage pass through all come to mind. I can't tell you how many times I've been at the airport lugging an overstuffed backpack wishing there was a good way to attach it to my carry-on without it falling off the sides. I bought the extra hip strap attachment, and being able to clip my A7III to my side is wonderful. Pricey bag, but very well engineered and considered!

Good but could be better
Pros: The material is great, the design is excellent. Cons: Heavy bag just by its own weight. it will be too heavy for EDC. Water resistent material seems to fade away after 1 year.

essential work bag
This bag is everything! Both a great camera bag and laptop bag, and is great for travel.

Great backpack! Worth every penny. Super versatile and now will be the only choice for travel.
Great for travel! pocket for sliding it onto the luggage is one of the best features, love it and this will make it the ideal travel bag. The additional straps on the back give you a room to slide a hoodie or jacket ( if it didn’t fit in the bag)-> this make it perfect especially if you are roaming around forest or mountains. Sleek design makes it look professional and casual! 5 stars!

Best Camera Bag Ever
This is surely the best camera bag I have ever owned. The bag can easily store my camera gear and plenty of lenses and accessories. The side entry to the bag makes accessibility so much easier and faster

Every. Single. Day.
I bought the Everyday Backpack v1 in early 2017. It quickly became my favorite backpack; I have been using it virtually every day since it arrived. As a full-time pro, I take it to every shoot, usually with two FF bodies and 3-6 lenses, (often including a 70-200) plus straps, memory cards, extra batteries, and maybe even a laptop. It all fits, and I've never felt like the bag was dangerously overloaded or unstable. I've also taken it hiking on long day hikes (trusty Capture Clip and PD carbon fiber tripod in stow) and it is comfortable, breathable, and stores everything I need and then some. It's also my go-to travel bag; back when we actually went places on airplanes, I'd sometimes only take this bag, with 1-2 days of clothes, toiletries, a camera and lens, and laptop fitting easily and comfortably inside. For longer trips, I'd bring it as my carryon or day bag for wandering through cities or national parks. Despite near-daily use (and abuse) the bag held up beautifully, until finally, about a month ago, one of the zippers did finally break. I contacted Peak Design, and they swapped out my old friend for a new (or like-new refurb, I couldn't tell the difference) bag within a week! I look forward to many more years of life with the replacement bag, and this whole experience further solidifies my love of PD's products and PD itself. The only con I can think of is that if you're an idiot like me sometimes you forget the side zips are open and you drop a lens. Always check!

Backpack
This is the best backpack on the market. I have the large and small, loving both on them. Would definitely suggest.

Perfect bag for photography/music
I bought the 20L bag to take my (small) music gear with me: thanks to the specific organization I can put absolutely eveything: little 2 octaves midi controller, microphone, sound card, headphones, computer, ipad, chargers... and more small things because there are a lot of pockets. Very comfortable too, I'm 100% satisfied and recommend it!

Overall happy with my new bag!
I bought the Everyday Backpack 30L mainly for use as my main carry in short trips (2-3s day max) or as a secondary carry in longer trips along with a suitcase. For now, I have only have used it in 1 short trip and it served me well! Nice quality and features! Love the magnets, the multiple pockets and the smart details! The hinge mechanism of the main straps is a bit weird because you can feel/hear it vibrating as you walk with that bag on your shoulder. I believe that this is something that should be addressed in future revisions. Had some minor quality complains and the staff offered me a replacement if I wanted to. However, no serious functionality was affected, so I kept the original bag. If I face any issue in the future, I would still be cover by lifetime warranty that make me pretty confident. Last be not least, if you are small to average frame person, you might feel that the bag is a bit wider that you might have been used to. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and the support from the Peak Design team. Look forward using it even more in real life!
