Awesome Lens!
I had rented a Canon 100-400L mk II to bring to High Island, TX to a bird sanctuary. I was excited to see what it could do and really had all but eliminated this lens from contention due to size, weight and focus accuracy I had seen reviews about. Upon arrival Sigma had a tent set up and were letting anyone try their lenses for free! Yes for free! I grabbed this lens and compared shots from the Canon and was simply amazed. I got more usable shots with this lens. Don't get me wrong, the Canon was a stellar lens but this just beat it. Maybe by the time I got to this lens I learned the birds habits and was using better technique but wow were they ever so sharp! Even at 600. Upon comparing two shots of the same bird in a nest the Sigma had better colors and contrast and the bokeh was MUCH better. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing on my screen. Needless to say I was at my local camera store that week and picked up a copy. I'm happy to report that my copy works just as good as the one I tried and is tack sharp. If you are on the fence get off and get to the camera store!! This is your lens!

Very Much Impressed
I was finally able to purchase this lens back in August of this year as a reward to myself for paying off my college tuition. Back in 2013 I purchased a 120-400mm super tele zoom, and was very much satisfied with it. However, ever since the 150-600mm C hit the market a number of years ago, I really wanted to purchase one, but had to wait until I finished paying my college loan. At first I was uncertain if the 150-600 would be a worthy successor for the 120-400. I must say from experience that my new 150-600 has met, and even exceeded all my expectations. I use my 150-600 to primarily shoot action photos of trains, and the results can be pretty dramatic. I decided that I wanted one of these lenses based the experiences of fellow Sigma lens user, William Beecher. The biggest learning curve with this lens is trying to get used to all of the switches that come with it. I am really impressed that Sigma engineers designed the C, A, and S lines of lenses to work with the USB dock so that owners can upgrade and adjust their lenses. This was pure genius. Keep up the good work Sigma.

Excellent Lens
The construction of the 150-600 is solid and it feels great in the hand as well as being sharp. The AF system is quick in good light, but it does slow down in lower light situations. The IQ is superb! I have been shooting with this lens now for awhile and I love it!

Super Lens
This is an update of my review after a full 2 yrs of primary shooting with this lens. I have taken THOUSANDS of images with this lens and even had Sigma service it for a very minor repair I am totally and thoroughly happy with this lens! In the past I have submitted pictures to the gallery here on Sigma's website. This lens has produced stunning shots that other photographers had thought I was shooting with a prime lens! The bokeh that this lens produces is out of this world! The wildlife pictures with that soft background look is outstanding and mirrors other very expensive lenses and this is way more affordable! The bang for your buck makes this lens a NO BRAINER! If you want a lens for birding and wild life this is the lens to get! After 2 plus years of shooting and I'm still in the WOW effect when I show my pictures online or just showing it to my son, other family members or friends! This is the best lens I have for wildlife! Without a doubt. I even bought the 1.4 extender! Super shots all!
