Overview

The Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Nikon is a premium mid telephoto zoom lens designed for APS-C sized sensors. Part of the Sigma Global Vision Art Line, the 50-100mm 1.8 is the second lens to feature a 1.8 aperture all the way through it focal length and factoring in the APS-C increase, the lens covers a highly useful range of 75-150mm. An enhanced and slimmer Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) provide fast and accurate autofocus while 3 Premium FLD and 1 SLD Elements produce incredible image sharpness. Like all SGV lenses, each lens is hand crafted in our single factory in Aizu Japan, individually inspected before shipping and work with the Sigma USB Dock to update firmware and focus calibrate.

Features three FLD (F Low Dispersion) glass elements, one SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element, and one high-refractive index, high-dispersion glass element to minimize aberrations.

Redesigned and enhanced, the new Hyper Sonic Motor is 30% slimmer and provides fast and accurate AF.

Highly durable polycarbonate diaphragm made with fluorine; blades feature carbon feather film offering exceptionally smooth operation even during continuous shooting

Fabulous lens!
This is a great lens that produces sharp images all across its focal range even with the aperture wide open. It has a nice solid construction and the zoom and focus rings have a nice smooth feel when you use them.

It is a bit heavy though, so be prepared for its weight. If you are holding this one up for any extended period of time, your arms will let you know. However, even with its weight, this is a gem of a lens.

Simply amazing
I've been wanting this lens since it came out. I use Nikon DX cameras and didn't want to step up to full frame camera's and lenses. I have used this to take pictures of my daughter's volleyball team and the photos are stunning. the F 1.8 lens and 50-100 mm range make for some amazing shots. It is a very heavy lens, and I am using it on a Nikon D5600 camera. I use it with a monopod and the mount built into the lens balances it out perfectly. I highly recommend this lens if you are looking for s great lens at F 1.8.

Super nice lens
I love this lens!! Sigma makes amazing lens! I am an art lens snob! Took this lens into the Grand Canyon and it tolerated extreme temperatures and snow and still gave amazing pictures

Good lens for advanced photographers.
Lens is quite heavy and the quality isn't as clean as sigma art lenses.

Just wow!
After being so satisfied with the Sigma 150-600mm Sport, I decided that I would give the "Art" series a shot. This lens does not disappoint. It is very sharp, renders colors beautifully, and has incredible bokeh that would compete with full frame lenses. Extremely happy with the purchase.

Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8
This is a great lens for low light photography. I've used it out side at night on a Nikon D3300 and Nikon D7200. Both being DX cameras. The wide f/1.8 aperture makes easier to get the pictures I want at a lower ISO. However I did find some issues with focusing. At times the lens couldn't get focused. I found this to be the case in a well lit place as well as low light. When it was in focus it took really nice pictures. This lens is very well made. I feel it's a nice choice for a APS-C camera.
