- 180 Degrees is awfulI spent a fair amount on this tripod and was told it would be absolutely perfect for food photography, flat lays, and other macro work using overhead angles. This tripod is impressive that it offers 180 degrees to take photos from... only when you lock your camera in and adjust the middle column to the angle you want there's no way to lock it in p ...Read More Read more about review stating 180 Degrees is awful lace. I've tightened the screw that's supposed to do this to the point where it WILL NOT TIGHTEN ANY MORE and the weight of the camera, or even a finger, pulls the tripod head to the ground. The tripod itself is stable, but trying to take an over-head photo is LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE with this and I am SO UNSATISFIED. What kind of design flaw is it that you cannot set any DSLR or even GoPro on it without having to physically hold the camera in place while on the tripod. I would very much like to hear back from VANGUARD because I am extremely upset and disappointed in my purchase. I cannot believe there are not more outraged photographers who spent this much money only to find you can never take an over-head photo because there is no locking system in place to assure the angle will not change or that your camera will not drop potentially into something. - A great product indeedI have been using with Nikon D750 with a 70-300 lens. The stand is stable and trustworthy.
- Vanguard Carbon Travel TripodAbsolutely excellent. I tried it with a long heavy Canon lens today and it held it still perfectly. Very light weight but sturdy, it collapses really quickly and is easy to transport. I recommend it highly. Roger Mallett Pro Photographer

- VEO 2 265CB - It’s very good indeedI am an amateur photographer, not a professional, wishing to improve my pictures. I bought the VEO for a forthcoming trip to Africa where I will be trekking into the bush and savannah, and needed a lightweight tripod. Another prerequisite was for it to fold up to fit into an airline carry-on bag: it is 43cm / 17” in the (included) carry bag. ...Read More Read more about review stating VEO 2 265CB - It’s very good indeed I recently took the VEO to the South of France for a trial / test and it performed very well. The lightness is very apparent, certainly when compared to my ‘old’ tripod. It was quite easy to manipulate into the positions I needed: from a small folded state into a full height. I also used the independent leg positioning when setting up. I also tried (for the first time) creating panoramic images and was relatively successful. Whilst moving the head manually across the landscape didn’t present any difficulties in manoeuvrability I would recommend a head with a handle for easier manipulation. I think Vanguard calls them pan heads? I admire the quality of the construction and materials and the Africa trip will surely test these. I’ll report back to Vanguard if the VEO doesn’t live up to expectations!! However, as the excellence is there for all to see I now just need to make up my mind about the right (flight / hand luggage approved mid-size) rucksack to compliment the tripod. My wife says that I am the Imelda Marcos (go Google!) of rucksacks, so I’ll have to research the Vanguard offerings very carefully, ensure that it is as sand/dust resistant as possible and can easily carry the VEO. If you buy one I’m sure that you will be impressed. Therefore, despite not having a ‘pan head’ I award the VEO 265CB 5 stars.
