- Upgrade to perfectionI recently bought the Anvil 17 to upgrade from my 9(!)-year-old Tamrac Adventure 75. I needed space for more kit and a laptop. Needless to say, the Adventure 75 is still almost intact, having endured snowy mountains, sandy beaches and extreme temperatures. I am looking forward to at least another 9 years with my new Tamrac backpack. I have high expectations, and I don't think I'll be disappointed.
- Review Anvil Slim 15Very roomy and holds my new MeFotto travel tripod easily. I especially like to special back cushion which makes the backpack comfortable in long hikes
- OutstandingOkay got the pack as I request asap. Took it on my trip to Camel-by-the-sea. Now I live in FLorida so it is a long trip, lots of waking through airports and delays. Then the walking through Point Lobos and smaller other areas. It also was used from the the trunk of the car. After I got home I knew the pack was heavy so I weighed it only to find out it was 38.5 lbs. Even with that weigh it was comfortable enough to carry for some distance. If I had to do it again I would buy this pack for sure. thank you for a great pack.
- Roomy but better (bigger) zippers neededI have the Anvil 27. So far so good. Plenty of room. When I am in remote areas and have non-flat surfaces to work my bag from and bend that deforms the zipper makes it hard to zip in a hurry without reshuffling the lenses and cameras and trying to flatten the bag. The thicker, wider zippers on some older Tamrac bags were much better. That would have given this bag a 5.
- Great for airport travel!I recently purchased this bag ahead of a big international trip that involved multiple airports. This bag was great to hold all my gear comfortably and wear through airports and while hiking, but the biggest benefit is that the camera storage compartment unzips to open completely and be flat. This allowed me to unzip that bag and keep all of my camera equipment inside through airport security screening, which is an enormous savings of time and sanity! I can't recommend this highly enough for those who are regularly taking camera equipment through airports!!
