- Excellent lensGreat lens it’s sharp and fast it’s great for travel
- Great quality and valuePrice is just right. Quality is fantastic. Sharp and only slightly soft in the corners. Focuses like a first party lens from Sony which is good. Build quality is great. I prefer this over the Sony all metal body like the 55mm Zeiss which you can scratch just by looking at it the wrong way. The material used on this lens is more resistant to scratches. The only con for most I think is the reversed placement of the focus ring.
- Sharp, light, and compactI have taken very sharp photos with this lens. Its very light and more compact compared to the Sony 24-70mm lens and also much cheaper but is definitely a rival in terms of performance. Even though it doesn't have lens stabilization I didn't feel it when shooting because of the IBIS on most sony bodies. Zoom and focus ring are smooth and simple. I guess that's why stocks are always running out. It truly is an award winning lens.
- #1 Travel LensDue to it's size it's my #1 travel lens! It's tack sharp at F2.8 and at the corners as well. Now, if you compare it to the Sigma and Sony 24-70 F2.8's then I'd say the Sigma and Sony outperforms the Tamron zoomed in around 3:1, 4:1. But who zooms in that much anyway? Also, the Sigma and Sony is way too big and heavy for travel. I love Tamron and their emphasis on smaller lenses. I hope they can make smaller F1.8 primes someday (hopefully F1.4's as well).
- Best lens for the priceAmazing lens for the price. It is compact built decently well and imho trades blows with much more expensive lens in image quality.
