- Great bag, but not as good as V1I used the V1 for a long time, maybe 3 years. Had it replaced since one of the zippers failed. Things I miss: 1. No separate zipper for laptop. This was a great feature. 2. Smaller and harder to get accessories pocket. 3. No top zipper, now you need to open the whole bag. 4. Doesn't stand up on its own as stably. 5. The color options are more mundane, I liked the canvas color. 6. The tripod holder had a nice pocket I liked. 7. There is not a good place now for things like a passport in the document holder. It makes it harder to use the bag when flying. 8. Bit harder go open since it wants to stay closed. Overall, it's more modern but I immediately was disappointed by a lot of the changes after living with the previous bag for a long time. It was pretty much perfect. If only the iterations were iterations and not a complete redesign that'd be great. However, the service PD has is amazing. I got this bag for free as a replacement due to the zipper issue. In retrospect, I should have asked for the V1.5 version instead, but too late now!
- Started with Messenger, Added BackpackI purchased the Messenger at a local camera store and loved it. I am going on a trip and purchased the Backpack. It is sitting next to me now and ready to go! Everything fit great and the Youtube videos were very helpful. I also bought some of the little snaps for my camera strap - simple and helpful.
- Honestly the best camera bag i've ever ownedI bought the very first everyday messenger years ago and this latest version is really superb. I've been a commercial photographer for 20 years and used just about every kind of bag and case you can imagine to lug my gear around- most of them were clunky, bulky, ugly black bags that would have been better loaded up with sand and used for crossfit! This messenger bag easily holds my dslr, 3 lenses, batteries, microphone and more in a super comfortable and stylish shape. The clever and lightweight design, multiple accessory spots pockets and remarkably useful inserts make this bag a dream to shoot with. Add to that Peak Design's fantastic customer service and it now seems ridiculous to even consider buying from anyone else. Thanks very much PD for making my job easier!
- Almost perfectI love the redesigned messenger bag. It has a lot more features than the original. However I do wish there was a way to have it just be a little bit bigger. I find when I am condensing my gear for the day for either work or photography I have to leave one or two things out. If it was an inch or two longer on either side it would be perfect but that is a small thing. I love how it is taller on the front and sides that keeps things in so you can go up a little higher. It has the external straps now which I can slide things into to help with carrying other things. For small papers or money there are two nice pockets that I can put on the outside and have them zipped up and secured. there are two pouches on the inner right and left but since it is a little shorter when its packed out its hard to use thats why I wish maybe an extra inch or two.
