- My experience on the Extender EF 2x lllI haven't used this much to speak of, but after seeing this review, I thought I would give it another try. The examples are close with the Extender. I like it and definitely need to use it more to see if I can use better settings. Also I use it on my 80D camera.
- Exceede my ExpectationsI acquired this extender to add length to my new 100-400mm L MII lens. I use it on my 7D. I knew from reading my manuals that AF is not possible so that is not an issue as I educated myself in this regard. But what images, I really cannot find fault with the image quality of this extender. It is like the lens and extender were designed for each other. Very sharp. Now obviously on very distant shots there is degradation but again I know this is due more to atmospherics than the lens. On shots within 1/2 mile absolutely incredible I recommend this extender for those who understand the AF limitations.
- Great ProductI use the 70-200 F2.8 ISII which is a versatile lens. This gives me another level of versatility and coupled with the 5DMKIII, I still have plenty of light. This is a great option until I can decide on whether the EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM with the built-in Extender or the 500mm will be my next lens.
- Auto focus limitedI should have purchased the extender 1.4 for better auto focus but am working with that issue may consider the 800 f5.6 super telephoto
